Why does my church need a security team?

When Churches Realize the Need for Security

For many churches, the idea of starting a security program comes after a wake-up call—a nearby incident, a medical emergency, or even a conversation with their insurance provider. Sometimes it’s just a growing sense that protecting the flock is part of good stewardship. Whatever the trigger, there’s usually a moment when leaders realize that being prepared doesn’t mean living in fear—it means caring well for the people God has entrusted to them.

Who Decides to Take Action

It usually starts with leadership. A pastor, elder, or church administrator recognizes the need and brings it before the board or staff. From there, many churches appoint someone within their congregation—often with law enforcement, military, or medical experience—to help build and oversee the team. The goal is always the same: to create a safe, welcoming environment where ministry can flourish without distraction.

How We Help

That’s where we come in. We walk alongside churches to help them take those next steps—offering practical guidance, training, and assessments that fit their size, budget, and mission. Our heart is to help ministries be both secure and spirit-led, so leaders can focus on what matters most: worship, discipleship, and outreach.

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” - Acts 20:28
